Dutch Band: THE EX http://www.theex.nl/
I love this song: "A sense of tumour"
on:
DISTURBING DOMESTIC PEACEcat.no. EX 004/005D (The Ex)released in November 1980recorded at Joke's Koeienverhuurbedrijf in Schellingwoude, NLproduced by Dolf Planteydt
THE EX: A SENSE OF TUMOUR (1980)
I got a tumour
in my brain
it's growing very fast
I want my health again
A tumour grows
in your brain
what do you mean
and how come
if it's so
what did you do
anyway
It doesn't matter
do not complain
no one is perfect
but at least you still got brains
we all know prosperity has its price
concessions must be made to magnify its size
but we got the power to control machines
we wouldn't take the risk to endanger human beings
I got a tumour still
it lives on brains
thanks to your factory
it makes me sick
Our factory makes you sick
what do you mean
and how come
if it's so
what did you do
anyway
it doesn't matter
do not complain
there is no danger
for your health
and neither for your brains
for we take all measures we can take
and if not we'll wipe out that mistake
our investigations show rumours are just lies
so shut up to sing that song of smog gets in your eyes
Who wants my tumour
I got enough of it
it is free
thanks to our welfare-state
who wants my tumour
it eats my brains
I took some aspirin
but nothing changed
We don't wanna hear no more about disease germs
stop this nonsense or we'll never come to terms
don't forget we give employment to a lot of men
if we'd change our attitudes what would happen then
we would never work here if we'd risk our health
don't you realize we add to mankind's wealth
and time is money so stop with your complaints
cause we produce the medicine to cure your tumoured brains

I really like that band:
http://homepages.nyu.edu/~cch223/uk/exitstance_main.html
and this is a pretty comprehensive site: http://killfromtheheart.com/ ( http://homepages.nyu.edu/~cch223/ ) .
Some bands are not covered, like cassette, the limbs. Subversity can't be covered by the umbrella that "punk" created. Ambiguities of political views and ways get smothered by terms such as punk, hippy, and whatsoever existed under the label of 50-60-70-80ies youth groups.
I myself only like "punk" which expressed concern for the world in regards to animals. Well just like Exitstance or Flux of Pink Indians, etc....
I used to think that the punk band the upright citizens were from switzerland, but they aren't they are from Botropp Germany http://homepages.nyu.edu/~cch223/westgermany/uprightcitizens_main.html , they got a nice tune called "now of never", but they weren't AR, like most punks regrettably weren't!

Sadeq Hedayat
1903-1951
'Hedayat's study of Khayyam led him to examine the philosophies of two other Aryans, Zoroaster and the Buddha. In 1924, he published his first impressions in a brief study entitled "Ensan va Heyvan," ("Man and Animal"). Like Zoroaster's "Gatha of the Ox Soul," "Ensan va Heyvan" is primarily a defense of the animal kingdom against the ravages of man. And as do the dictates of the Buddha, it condemns the killing of animals for any purpose. Personally convinced, later on Hedayat became a vegetarian himself and remained a vegetarian to the end of his life.'
From: http://www.farhangsara.com/hedayat.htm
"These torture instruments that human beings use are unnatural. They themselves have made them. It is sometime since societies called "Humane Societies" have been established in Europe and the United States to defend the rights of animals. Specific laws have been enacted to defend the rights of animals and to stop human beings' cruelty and unjust dealings towards them. Are those who belong to these societies the same as these beasts? Impossible! If they were the same, their hearts could not be made of stone." From 'THE SILENT LANGUAGE OF A DONKEY AT THE TIME OF DEATH' by Sadeq Hedayat. Translated from the Persian by Farzin Yazdanfar
